I created my own spidersona after having seen Across the Spider-Verse in theatres. I was inspired to create a character and costume that represented me and my interests, while also incorporating the visual style of spider-verse into my art. First off, I chose the colour palette simply because I love how blue and orange contrast with one another. I also felt that they embodied the fun and energetic personality I was trying to portray with the character.
As for the costume, I was inspired by characters like the scarlet-spider or Ben Reilly with his jacket and layers on top of the skin tight suit. I like how it conveys a more relaxed or casual Spiderman.
The style of Spider-Verse really shines through with the kirby dots used as texturing all over.
Process work

Early sketch

In the initial sketch I had the character falling backward with a cityscape framing his fall. I was inspired by the iconic scene from into the spider-verse where miles makes leap of faith, a turning point in the story.
In the end I found having the buildings may be too complex and take away from the character design, so I opted to not include them.

First concept and colour scheme

Some other features of his suit are a digital assistant akin to an old-school Gameboy, and some bright orange headphones so he can listen tunes while he swings through the city and glides on his wheelies.
Overall I was going for a retro sci-fi kind of look for the suit, with classic colours and tech integrated into it.
